1. Who we are
THE MOBIGURUS (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent publisher of mobile applications for Android and iOS. We are the controller (data fiduciary) responsible for personal information processed through our apps (each an “App”), this website and our support channels (together, the “Services”).
This policy applies to every App we publish on Google Play and the Apple App Store, unless an App shows its own privacy policy, in which case that policy applies to that App. Details that differ from App to App are listed under App-specific details. By installing or using our Services, you acknowledge the practices described here.
2. The short version
- We collect only what an App needs to work, stay reliable and improve.
- Most Apps need no account. Content such as photos and progress stays on your device unless an App clearly says otherwise.
- We use trusted service providers (such as Google Firebase) for analytics, crash reports and notifications.
- Payments are processed by Google Play or Apple. We never see or store your card details.
- Some Apps may show ads. Where they do, we explain it, ask for consent where the law requires it and let you limit ad personalisation.
- We do not sell your personal information, and you can ask us to access or delete it at any time.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and support information: your name, email address, phone number (if you choose to give it) and the content of messages when you contact us, report a problem or reply to a survey.
- Account information: if an App offers an optional account or sign-in, the details you provide such as name, email address and profile settings.
- Content you create: for example notes, goals, progress or photos you add in an App. Unless an App states otherwise, this stays on your device.
Information collected automatically
- Device information: device model, operating system and version, language, time zone, app version and unique identifiers such as an app instance ID, Firebase installation ID, and, where permitted, the Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA.
- Log data: when an App or our server encounters an error, we may collect your IP address, device name, OS version, the configuration of the App, the date and time of use, and other diagnostic statistics.
- Usage data: how you interact with an App, such as screens viewed, features used, session length, tasks or routines completed and survey responses.
- Approximate location: a coarse region (country or city) derived from your IP address. Our Apps do not collect precise GPS location unless an App clearly asks for it for a feature you choose to use.
- Purchase information: which products or subscriptions are active, purchase tokens and transaction IDs, received from Google Play or Apple.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask for government ID numbers, bank account or card numbers, passwords for other services, your contacts, call logs or SMS messages, and we do not collect biometric data. Where an App uses your camera, images are processed on your device unless the App clearly says otherwise.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, operate and maintain the Apps and their features;
- process purchases, unlock paid content and restore purchases on new devices;
- monitor and analyse usage to improve performance, design and content;
- diagnose crashes, fix bugs and keep the Services secure and free of abuse;
- send reminders, updates and announcements you have opted in to;
- respond to your enquiries and provide customer support;
- personalise your experience, including showing relevant ads and offers in ad-supported Apps where you have allowed it;
- comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms and protect our rights.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and similar laws)
- Contract: to provide the App and any purchase you make.
- Legitimate interests: analytics, crash reporting, security and improving our Services, balanced against your rights.
- Consent: push notifications, personalised advertising, optional permissions and marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: tax, accounting and responding to lawful requests.
5. Device permissions
Our Apps request device permissions only when a feature needs them, and usually at the moment you use that feature. You can allow or deny each permission, and change your mind later in your device settings. Denying a permission only disables the related feature. Permissions an App may request include:
- Camera: to take photos for features such as a progress journal or document scanning.
- Photos and storage: to save or pick images and files on your device.
- Notifications: to send reminders and updates you opt in to.
- Internet and network state: to download content and check connectivity.
- Phone state (READ_PHONE_STATE, Android): only in Apps that need it, to adapt behaviour during calls and improve functionality and user experience. We do not use it to read your phone number or call history.
- App Tracking Transparency (iOS): ad-supported Apps ask for your permission before accessing the IDFA to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
The exact permissions each App uses are listed under App-specific details and on its store listing.
6. Advertising
Some of our Apps are free because they show advertisements. Apps that show ads say so on their store listing (“Contains ads”) and in App-specific details. Apps that do not show ads are marked as ad-free.
- Ads are served by third-party ad networks such as Google AdMob. These networks may collect device information (including the Advertising ID or IDFA where permitted), IP address, app information and how you interact with ads, to show, measure and, with your consent, personalise ads.
- Consent: in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, and wherever the law requires it, we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (a certified consent management platform under the IAB TCF) to ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalised ads based on context.
- iOS: we ask for permission through App Tracking Transparency before tracking. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, the IDFA is not available and ads are not personalised using it.
- Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalisation, under Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Google → Ads on some devices).
- Ads are never targeted to users we know are children, and Apps directed at children use only ad networks certified for families.
- We do not control the content of third-party ads and are not responsible for the products or websites they link to. Learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
7. In-app purchases and subscriptions
Many of our Apps are free to download and offer optional in-app purchases, such as a premium subscription or a one-time unlock.
- Payment processing: all payments are handled by Google Play Billing on Android and by Apple on iOS, under their own terms and privacy policies. We never receive your card number, bank details or billing address.
- What we receive: the product purchased, subscription status, renewal and expiry dates, a purchase token or transaction ID, and the country of purchase, so we can unlock content, prevent fraud and handle support requests.
- Auto-renewing subscriptions are charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase and renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription, where applicable.
- Managing and cancelling: on Android, open Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. On iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting an App does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Google or Apple according to their refund policies. We are happy to help with any request: contact admin@themobigurus.com.
- Restore purchases: you can restore active purchases on a new device signed in to the same store account.
8. Third-party services
We work with the following service providers. Each processes data on our behalf, or as an independent controller where stated in its own policy. Which of these a specific App uses is listed under App-specific details.
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics for Firebase Google LLC | Understanding which features are used so we can improve the apps | Usage events, app instance ID, device model, OS version, language, approximate location from IP |
| Firebase Crashlytics Google LLC | Finding and fixing crashes and errors | Crash traces, device model, OS version, app version, installation ID |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging Google LLC | Delivering reminders and update notifications you opt in to | Push token, app instance ID |
| Google Play Billing Google LLC | Processing in-app purchases and subscriptions on Android | Purchase token, product ID, subscription status (payment details stay with Google) |
| Apple App Store (StoreKit) Apple Inc. | Processing in-app purchases and subscriptions on iOS | Transaction ID, product ID, subscription status (payment details stay with Apple) |
| Google Play In-App Review Google LLC | Letting you rate the app without leaving it | Handled by Google Play; we receive no personal data |
| Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform Google LLC | Showing ads in ad-supported apps and collecting ad consent where required | Advertising ID (where permitted), IP address, device and app information, ad interactions, consent choices |
| Google Fonts Google LLC | Delivering the typefaces used on this website | IP address and browser information needed to deliver the font files |
9. Rewards, offerwalls and surveys
Some Apps may include rewarded ads, offerwalls or surveys run by third-party partners, in which you can choose to complete an offer or answer questions in exchange for an in-app reward. Taking part is always optional. These partners may collect and use information, including device identifiers and your responses, under their own privacy policies, which are linked inside the offer. Please read them before taking part. We receive only the information needed to credit your reward.
10. Cookies, SDKs and this website
In our Apps
Our Apps do not use browser cookies themselves, but they may include third-party code and libraries (SDKs) that use cookies, local storage or similar technologies to collect information and improve their services. You can accept or refuse these through your device settings and the in-app consent options described above. Refusing may affect some features.
On this website
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, has no user accounts and does not track you across sites. Fonts are delivered by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to send the font files. The contact form does not send anything to our servers: it opens your own email app with your message filled in, and we receive only what you choose to send.
11. How we share information
We share information only as described in this policy:
- Service providers who help us run the Services (listed above), bound by contracts that limit how they may use the data.
- App stores (Google and Apple) to process purchases, reviews and app distribution.
- Advertising partners in ad-supported Apps, subject to your consent choices.
- Legal reasons: when required by law, court order or a government request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of THE MOBIGURUS, our users or others.
- Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that deal under this policy’s protections. We will notify you of any change in ownership.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except through the consented ad features described in Advertising.
12. International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live, including India, the United States and countries in the European Union. When we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses and require appropriate safeguards from our providers.
13. How long we keep data
- Data stored on your device stays there until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App.
- Analytics data is kept for the limited period set in our analytics settings (no longer than 14 months) and then deleted automatically.
- Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days.
- Purchase records are kept for as long as the purchase is active and afterwards as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes.
- Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you, and normally no longer than two years after the conversation ends.
- Optional account data is deleted when you delete your account.
14. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, least-privilege access for our team and reputable infrastructure providers. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach that affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
15. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- delete your information;
- object to or restrict certain processing, including for direct marketing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing;
- not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland (GDPR)
You have the rights above and may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
California and other US states (CCPA/CPRA and similar laws)
You have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect (identifiers, device and usage information, purchase information and approximate location, as described above), the purposes, and the categories of recipients; to request deletion and correction; and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To opt out of ad-related sharing, use the in-app consent options or your device’s ad settings, or email us. We honour Global Privacy Control signals where applicable.
India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023)
You have the right to access a summary of your personal data, to correction and erasure, to grievance redressal and to nominate another person to exercise your rights. Grievances can be sent to our grievance contact at admin@themobigurus.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
How to exercise your rights
Email admin@themobigurus.com from the address you used to contact us, or use our contact form. Tell us which App your request relates to. We may need to verify your identity, and we respond within 30 days (or sooner where the law requires).
16. Deleting your data
You can delete your data at any time:
- Data on your device: use the App’s reset or delete options where available, or uninstall the App. This removes everything the App stored on your phone.
- Optional accounts: where an App has an account, use “Delete account” in its settings, or email us. Your account and associated data are deleted within 30 days, except data we must keep by law (such as purchase records).
- Data held by us or our providers: email admin@themobigurus.com with the subject “Delete my data” and the App name. Where an App has no account, include any identifiers you can find in the App’s settings so we can locate your data. We will confirm when deletion is complete.
- Advertising data: reset your Advertising ID (Android) or turn off “Allow Apps to Request to Track” (iOS).
Uninstalling an App does not cancel subscriptions. Cancel them in your Google Play or Apple account first.
17. Children’s privacy
Our Apps are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA, or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. We do not show personalised ads to anyone we know to be a child. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without verified parental consent, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact admin@themobigurus.com.
If we publish an App designed for children, it will follow the Google Play Families Policy, Apple’s Kids Category guidelines and the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and its specific practices will be described in App-specific details.
18. Health and wellness apps
Some Apps, such as our wellness Apps, help you build routines like exercise or self-care. Progress and personal content in these Apps are stored on your device. We do not sell health or wellness information, do not use it for advertising and do not share it with data brokers. Where an App integrates with Apple HealthKit or Health Connect, it will ask for your permission first, use that data only to provide the feature, and never use it for advertising or share it with third parties.
Our wellness Apps are not medical devices and do not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
19. Emails and notifications
If you allow notifications, an App may send reminders, tips and update announcements. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings or in the App.
If you sign up for updates, we may occasionally email you about new Apps, features, promotions and rewards. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us. We will still send essential service messages, such as replies to your support requests.
20. Google Play and App Store disclosures
- Each App’s Google Play Data safety section and App Store privacy details (“nutrition label”) summarise the data it collects. We keep them consistent with this policy and update them with each release.
- This policy is linked from every App’s store listing and inside each App, and is available to everyone without signing in.
- Apps that track users across other companies’ apps or websites ask for permission through App Tracking Transparency before doing so.
- Account deletion, where an App offers accounts, is available inside the App and through this page, as required by Apple and Google.
- Apple and Google are not responsible for our Apps’ content or privacy practices. Their own policies apply to your store accounts.
21. App-specific details
These details are specific to each App we publish and supplement the rest of this policy.
